How we can help

Groups

We have a variety of groups that we run throughout the year. If you are interested in joining one of our groups, please get in touch with us to find out more information.

Lego Group

Designed for: 9-12 years of age

In this group, children work in teams to create Lego sculptures based on the theme of that week (e.g. animals, buildings, transport) while working on a variety of skills, including collaborative problem solving, negotiating and sparking their creativity.

School Readiness

Designed for: 4-5 years of age

Children will develop a variety of skills that will help prepare them for their transition to school including listening to a story, taking turns, following group instructions, completing simple activities independently and looking after their own belongings. Each session is themed around a book of the week. At the beginning of the session, the book is introduced and read to the children. The activities that follow are based around the book, which may be a craft or cooking activity (or sometimes both!). At the end of the session, your child can take the book home to read with you and your family. Your child will bring the book back at their next session, just like a library!

Talking Toddlers

Designed for: 1-2 years of age

This is a parent and toddler group that runs for five sessions at our local community centre. Each session is themed around a language strategy, to help you support your child’s language development and build their vocabulary. We have a variety of fun activities set-up for your child to explore and play, and for you to practise the language strategy with them. There is also a short group time where we sing songs and read a book together.
